FAMILY WINELANDS- FULL DAYTour Code: FF05 Depart the city to the Winelands region in the nearby Boland Mountains, for a leisurely exploration of historic Wine Route towns, their liquid delights and famed hospitality. Estates visited will vary according to client preferences. All offer tastings of high quality red and white wines, but some estates also offer child-friendly activities. Among these are: Blaauwklippen, which has a collection of historic carriages, Seidelberg, which hosts a glass-blowing studio and animal petting-farm, and Fairview, whose goats provide endless amusement... as well as great cheeses. Visit Butterfly World, the largest park for butterflies in Southern Africa, strolling through the indoor garden with its water features and exotic plants, as beautiful butterflies fly freely around you. Lunch at one of the many classic restaurants in the area. After a final wine tasting for adults, visit Spier Estate for an up-close encounter with its cheetahs. Learn more about these hand-raised big cats in the care of the Cheetah Outreach Programme. We also visit Eagle Encounters, a bird of prey rehabilitation and conservation centre, with a rare opportunity to photograph some of Africa's largest raptors at close quarters. |
